Professional Bio
Divine Afuba has been practising law for over a decade and has extensive experience in working with international law firms.
He has worked in top-tier corporate and commercial law firms where he has acquired technical skills and extensive experience in a wide range of areas including corporate, commercial, real estate, banking and financial law practice.
Divine is currently the head of banking and financial law practice of the law firm. He advises banks and other actors in the banking and financial services industry on banking and financial markets regulations, investments and exchange control regulations, and general commercial and corporate law.
Divine has advised, represented and assisted leading corporations across different industries and sectors in different operations and transactions, including restructuring of syndicated loans, mergers and acquisitions, capital increase, project financing, refinancing, financing and development of solar grids, employee stock option plans, mixed used real estate development project, equity subscription, PPPs, distribution contracts, protection of minority shareholders, acquisition of offshore drilling rigs, exploitation of iron ore mines, labour contracts and disputes, etc.
He has advised entities including tech companies, tobacco companies, investment funds, health institutions, banks, cement companies, development agencies, water treatment companies, retail companies, mobile telecommunication companies, beverage companies, energy companies, international financial institutions, oil companies, iron ore companies, companies in the defence sector, etc.
