Barbara is an associate of the law firm who holds An LLM (with distinction) in business law. Prior to joining DLF, she was a legal intern at a leading law firm, where she gained competence in legal advisory matters. She equally worked at a legal & tax consulting firm, where she acquired knowledge in tax-related issues. Today she specializes in the business and corporate law practice of the firm, while equally advising clients on tax, financial and commercial law.
In the recent years, Barbara’s professional work has covered:
– Advising and assisting commercial companies in the creation of their companies;
– Prosecuting publication formalities for commercial companies before the commercial companies registry;
– Assisting companies in the dematerialization of their securities;
– Advising associations and foundations in the process for their creation and authorization;
– Advising estates in probate and estate tax issues;
– Preparing pleadings in commercial, civil and labour matters;
– Advising insurance companies and insured persons in the framework of indemnity claims;
– Preparing and filing foreign direct investment declarations for foreign investors;
– Preparing and filing tax declarations;
– Advising clients relating to the forceful execution of judgments and helping distrainee clients strategize on their defense against forceful execution of irregular court orders.
Barbara has recently distinguished herself in advising and assisting a major European Fintech company in establishing a subsidiary in Cameroon and complying with commercial law regulation relating to foreign investors.
For almost 7 years now, Barbara has been the program coordinator of the Barbara Mathilda Foundation, an NPO that she runs with her mother, which caters for orphans and vulnerable children.
Barbara is currently preparing to sit the Cameroon Bar exams and qualify as a pupil lawyer.
